Inspired by the famous Cheltenham Gold Cup. Cheltenham is a town in Gloucestershire, England, home to the renowned Cheltenham Festival, 4 days of horse jump racing culminating in the Gold Cup, held annually in March at Cheltenham Racecourse.
Commissioned by the Jockey Club and Great Western Rail, this mural is inspired by the famous Cheltenham Gold Cup Festival – the Bredon Hills and Cheltenham Racecourse Grandstands form the backdrop for the exciting Cheltenham Gold Cup Festival with horses and jockeys vying for first place and the Gold Cup.
The mural has been erected at Cheltenham Spa RailwayStation, enhancing Platform 1 for both travellers and racegoers.
