This project was commissioned as a complete refurbishment ofthe Dining Room at the Stonebow Unit in Hereford. Safety and well-being of the residents wasparamount, and the aim was to create a calm and comfortable environment.
The original dining room was a combination of individual tables and fluorescent lighting, allowing traffic across the room.
By introducing natural daylight through installing Sunpipes (the project was featured in their promotional video), designing a single unit incorporating comfortable high-backed curved seating areas and tables as well as encouraging the flow of traffic into and around the room with different coloured safety flooring, the Dining Room was transformed into a comfortable and tranquil environment.
The warm colour scheme and paintings of jazz musicians around the perimeter, together with subtle wall lights enhanced the overall ambience of the room for both residents and staff.
